Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives):

As an automotive drivetrain engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and test the various components and systems that make up a vehicle's drivetrain. The job will involve working with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that all components are designed and integrated correctly to produce a reliable and efficient drivetrain.


Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Designing and developing automotive drivetrain components such as transmissions, driveshafts and motor mounts.
  • Develop and design elastomeric traction motor mounts that meet performance, durability, and cost objectives
  • Utilize CAD and other design software to develop and refine drivetrain designs.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and components required for production.
  • Conducting performance and durability tests on drivetrain components and subsystems to ensure that they meet design requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including other engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure that drivetrain components integrate properly with other vehicle systems.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data from tests and simulations to identify opportunities for improvement in drivetrain design.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and developments in drivetrain technology and applying this knowledge to improve the design of automotive drivetrains.


Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 04 - 08 years of experience in the automotive industry with a focus on engine mounts.
  • Knowledge of elastomeric materials and their properties.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and quality control methods.
