Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives)
Responsible for designing and developing automated production systems — from concept to implementation — that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability of manufacturing operations. This role bridges mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines to design how machines physically and logically operate together.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Develop automation concepts for Battery assembly lines, Special process, testing, and material handling.
- Evaluate manual processes and propose automation solutions (Material selections, robots, conveyors, jigs, etc.)
- Prepare process flow diagrams, layout, and cycle time calculations.
- Define specifications for PLCs, sensors, actuators, robots, and vision systems
- Select appropriate automation components (drives, pneumatics, safety systems)
- Work with mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure systems integrate seamlessly
- Design control panels, wiring layouts, and interface points with existing equipment
- Coordinate with machine builders, automation vendors, and MES/IT teams.
- Review and approve machine designs, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
- Analyze cycle times, bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement
- Support line balancing and ergonomic design
- Prepare design documentation (BOMs, schematics, SOPs, safety validation)
- Ensure designs meet safety and industrial standards (ISO 13849, IEC 60204, etc.).
Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics / Electrical / Mechanical / Automation Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 3–7 years in industrial automation, preferably in battery pack, EV, or electronics manufacturing
- Strong understanding of automation system design and integration.
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, servo systems, and motion control
- Familiarity with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks, NX
- Understanding of MES and traceability systems
- Knowledge of safety and electrical standards
