Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives)

We are seeking a skilled BMS Hardware Design Engineer with strong expertise in PCB layout and schematic design using Altium Designer. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising hardware components for the battery management systems in our EV platforms.

 

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Design analog and digital circuit schematics for BMS hardware using Altium Designer.
  • Develop multi-layer PCB layouts ensuring EMI/EMC compliance and signal integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, testing) to develop robust BMS hardware solutions.
  • Validate hardware designs through simulations, prototyping, and testing.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and manufacturing files.
  • Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers during PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Ensure designs meet automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and functional safety guidelines.
  • Experience with design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Interact with clients to identify and select appropriate components based on specific project requirements


Desired Qualifications: Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB schematic and layout design.
  • Proficient in Altium Designer or Similar design Tools.
  • Experience with design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C).
  • Understanding of power electronics and lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Must have experience in signal and power integrity.
  • Experience with simulation tools like LTspice, PSpice, or similar.
  • Knowledge of compliance testing and certification processes (EMI/EMC, ESD, etc.).
